Why choose Arabica coffee?
Arabica coffee is the main type of coffee grown in the world. Currently, Arabica accounts for 56% of world production and is thought to originate in Ethiopia. In fact, it is precisely in this country that the oldest traces of coffee cultivation and consumption were discovered, dating back to the year 1100.
Nowadays this type of coffee is grown in the countries of Africa, Asia, America and Oceania located between the two tropics, at an altitude between 900 and 2000 metres. Arabica coffee needs very specific climatic conditions to fully develop. It is very sensitive to frost and high temperatures, it needs shade to allow its grains to ripen and feed on sugars.
The Arabica coffee bean is usually more elongated and thicker, with a more sinuous central cut, while the Robusta coffee bean is smaller and rounder with a straight central furrow. Furthermore, Arabica has about half the caffeine of Robusta, but has twice as many chromosomes, making it a more complex coffee in terms of aroma.
Conversely, Robusta has double the caffeine and half the chromosomes, so it is a less aromatic and more bitter coffee. Robust coffee is so called because it is particularly resistant to insects, it is produced in western Africa (Cameroon, Ivory Coast) and in the Far East. It grows in areas at lower altitudes and in conditions of high humidity.
In general, real italian coffee in saudi arabia gives your cup of coffee, aromas, delicacy, sweetness, a pleasant acidity and a velvety and compact crema. Arabica has two very specific organoleptic characteristics: bitter and acid and the combination of these two scents, based on the origin of provenance and the roasting methods, allow this blend to release the millions of scents that we perceive in the coffee.
